On Tennessee vs. nc state
Chase goes into great detail as to what made the Vols victory over then-No.24 NC State so impressive. Tennessee’s defensive line is perhaps the best in all of college football and they flexed why that might be the case against the Wolfpack. The Vols didn’t have their best day at the office and the team still scored 51 points against a good team. Tyre West, Omari Thomas and Omar Norman-Lott popped along the defensive line and head coach Josh Heupel showed he can win with 12-personel as well with the trio of Vols tight ends having a great day.
On Texas vs. Michigan
Chase admits he was wrong about Texas, but he was right about the Wolverines. Quin Ewers had a great game for the Longhorns on the road in Ann Arbor, and the Longhorns showed they are right there with Georgia as the best team in the SEC this season. Michigan has real problems and not adding a transfer portal quarterback may end up being too much to overcome this season to realistically defend their national championship. Donovan Edwards does not look like a Heisman-hopeful replacement at running back for Blake Corum either.
On Alabama vs. USF
Has Alabama ever looked more beatable? In four straight seasons, Alex Golesh has had the Crimson Tide’s number. He was the Vols’ OC those first two years and has had both Nick Saban and Kalen DeBoer on the ropes at USF now. With a loaded schedule, Alabama has the look of a 10-2 or 9-3 team and may miss the CFP.
