On Tennessee vs. Kent State
No. 6 Tennessee absolutely decimated Kent State on Saturday night in Knoxville at Neyland Stadium. Indeed, the Vols blew out the Golden Flashes 71-0. What were some of the takeaways from this game days after? Well, Tennessee continues under the leadership of Nico Iamaleava to thrive to a 4-0 start as a starter for the Vols.
On Dylan Sampson Best Vols RB Since?
The trio talk about Dylan Sampson is the best Tennessee running back since who? Well, Alvin Kamara is the most obvious example. Sampson has become an all-purpose running back for the Vols this season. He already has touchdown runs through three games. He has been fantastic for the Vols as a receiver, too. Still, Kamara never had the production Sampson has had through three games at Tennessee. Former Volunteer great Arian Foster may be the closest example of a do-it-all star tailback at Tennessee.
On Nico Iamaleava vs. Oklahoma
The trio wrap by talking about Oklahoma’s top-22 run defense. If Tennessee can’t run the football in Norman, could we see Iamaleava attempt the most number of throws to this point in his career? He hasn’t thrown 30 or more passes yet and it looks like he may have to reach that number in Norman on Saturday night. Indeed, Hendon Hooker ran the ball 32 times on the road and at home against Alabama and Georgia in 2022. Hooker threw it 42 times at South Carolina. Either way, all signs point to Iamaleava having to throw it more than he has to this point in his young Tennessee Volunteers career.
